Helena Hunter

Helena Hunter is an artist living and working in London, her work is movement/body based and spans performance, visual art and literature.

Helena’s work explores ideas of initiation and metamorphosis within the context of fairytale and myth. Her work arises from a belief that the imagination is repressed by and out of balance with the world we live in, and deals with the difficulties that the imagination and the self encounter in the face of reality.

Helena is interested in the nature of the imagination and it’s potential to incite transformation and change, she is committed to questioning ways of seeing and believing and challenging the divide between the real and imagined. Her work is intensely imagined, physically enduring, and designed to activate and engage the imagination.
